Your information stays yours.
Updated October 3, 2026. YidCalendar is developed and operated by Yosef Ziegler.
Calendar data on your device
YidCalendar stores reminders, events, birthdays, yahrzeits, scanned invitation details and app preferences to provide the features you choose. Core Hebrew calendar and zmanim calculations run on your device. There are no ads or third-party analytics in the app, and we do not sell personal information.
Location, calendars and notifications
With your permission, location is used for local zmanim and relevant features. You can select a city instead. Calendar access lets the app display selected calendars available through your operating system. Notifications provide alerts you enable. Manage these permissions in your device settings.
Microphone, photos and invitation scanning
Dictation and scanning use the microphone, camera or photos only when you choose those features. Invitation recognition can start on your device. If you explicitly choose ChatGPT scanning, a compressed invitation image and recognized text are sent through Supabase to OpenAI to prepare editable event details. Review before saving. Optional cloud Quick Add sends the text of your request to OpenAI when you select that service.
Optional accounts and sync
Supabase provides email/password authentication and supported account sync. If enabled, supported reminders, events and preferences are stored on the service to restore or synchronize them. iOS and Android can use the same login; this does not mean every type of app data is shared across platforms. Access to account data is restricted by authentication and server permissions.
Optional SMS and texted reminders
When you request SMS setup, we process your phone number, verification code request and number-verification records. The service stores phone-number routing, selected settings, scheduled messages, texted reminder content and delivery records needed to operate SMS. Twilio receives recipient numbers and message content to deliver texts and process incoming replies. Supabase stores the service records. Supported natural-language texted reminder requests are sent to OpenAI for interpretation.
Message frequency varies with your requests and enabled reminders. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. The SMS consent page explains setup, examples, removal and availability.
SMS opt-in information, consent and phone numbers are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers process this information only as needed to provide the SMS and reminder features you request.
Premium
Apple or Google processes store purchases. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts and account identifiers to verify and restore Premium access. It does not receive your local calendar content to perform those checks.
This website
This site provides app information and support links. It has no phone-number signup form, advertising or analytics scripts. The hosting provider may process basic request information, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the website. Fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts. Emailing support shares your email address and whatever information you choose to include.
Removal and support
You can remove reminders and events in the app, turn off optional features, and use account-deletion controls where available. Carrier opt-out is available by replying STOP. For account or SMS record deletion assistance, email yidcalendar613@gmail.com. Removing content from your device may not remove copies already stored in external calendars or services.
Children and changes
YidCalendar is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child’s personal information was provided to us, contact support. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the date above.
